News from the Development Office:
The Development Office is thrilled to announce that our 1st Annual Cardinal McCloskey Services Award Dinner was a tremendous success! This very special event honored our Chairman Emeritus, John M. Queenan for his 27 years of service to CMS, the past 15 years as Chair of our Board of Directors. Over 120 guests gathered at the Larchmont Yacht Club on May 20, 2010 to pay tribute to this truly incredible man, raising nearly $60,000 for those we serve.
Since 1983, John has literally helped thousands of foster children and developmentally disabled adults lead more stable, successful and fulfilling lives; he has shown us the heights that can be achieved when we truly give of ourselves to others. John has stood tall in the legacy of John Cardinal McCloskey: a faithful steward who protects the vulnerable and provides for the less fortunate.
The event included cocktails and dinner overlooking the Long Island Sound, a fantastic silent auction and presentation of the first Cardinal McCloskey Award to John. In attendance were John's lovely wife, Jeanne, his children, grandchildren, members of the Board of Directors and Executive Team, as well as John's many friends and colleagues from the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick in the City of New York, The Knights of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem, and Immaculate Heart of Mary Church.
Our sincere gratitude and heartfelt appreciation must go to our Dinner Chairs: Tom O'Brien, President of State Bank of Long Island and President of the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick, and Marge McLoughlin, LMSW, former Executive Director of Cardinal McCloskey Services. Without their unwavering support, the success of this first time event would not have been possible.
We hope to see you at the next exciting CMS event!
