At Cardinal McCloskey Services we believe that our employees are our most
important asset. With this in mind we have designed our benefit package to
compliment your earnings and to provide a security net to you and your
family.
Your benefits provide a substantial addition to your earnings and may allow
certain tax advantages that will help you even more. In order to take full
advantage of them it is important that you clearly understand them. Our
Human Resource Department will be happy to help as needed. At this time our
benefits package includes the following:

Vacation
You will accrue 10 vacation days in your first year of employment. In
recognition of your service, an additional day of vacation is added for each
year you complete to a maximum of 20 days. Supervisory, professional and
administrative staff earns 20 days per year. Vacation time may be used
immediately as earned. There is no wait to use time that you have earned.
Personal
Each employee may earn up to 4 Personal Days per year. One will be posted
to your account at the beginning of each calendar quarter. You may use each
day as soon as it is posted. It is earned after working the complete
quarter. All personal time ends at the end of the calendar year.
Sick Time
Annual Sick Time
You may earn 1¼ sick days per month accumulating up to 15 sick days per year
to a total of 75 sick days. You may use 5 of your 15 annual earned sick
days in case of an illness in your family. We define family as: child,
spouse or parent.
Disability Plans - Short Term & Long Term
Consistent with our commitment to maintaining a safety net for our
employees, Cardinal McCloskey Services provides a cost free Long Term
Disability Plan (LTD) for benefited staff. If the unfortunate should happen
and you become disabled, our short-term disability policy will cover you for
the first 26 weeks. Our Long Term Disability Plan begins after this 26-week
period and can last until retirement age. This means that you would be able
to receive up to 60% of your monthly salary (up to $6,000 monthly) until
retirement age.
Health Insurance Plan
Recognizing the daily economic challenges that our staff face we are
committed to keeping medical insurance cost as low as possible.
At this time modest co-pays for individual and family coverage are required
on a sliding fee basis.
Our surveys tell us that these costs are among the lowest in the field.
We offer the following plan:
Oxford's plan covers doctor, hospitalization and prescription services. You
must choose a Primary Care Physician from their list of doctors. Your PCP
will furnish medical care, refer you to specialists when needed and arrange
for hospitalization. Office visits are $10.00 per visit. Co-payment for
emergency room care is $50.00. Prescription co-payments are $5.00 for
generic and $10.00 for brand names. There are no claim forms to fill out.
A basic preventive dental program is included (exams, x-rays and cleanings
only). They have a discounted price list for other dental work. Dental
office visits are $10.00 per visit.
This plan summary is for your assistance but do not constitute
a contract. In all cases the provisions of a plan is stated in the
plan brochures furnished by the carrier.
Financial Opportunities
Flexible Spending Accounts
We provide a full range of IRS authorized Flexible Spending Accounts. These
tax-sheltering accounts permit you, on an annual basis, to put salary
dollars away tax-free. You may then use these funds to pay for (1) most
uninsured medical expenses, (2) qualifying dependent care and (3) commuting expenses.
Credit Union
Many of our staff find a credit union helpful. Accordingly, the
Municipal Credit Union (www.nymcu.org) has been made available to
you. Savings, Checking, Holiday accounts, Vacation accounts and other
bank-style accounts are available to you through payroll deduction.
Tax Deferred (Sheltered) Annuity Plan
The Agency makes available to you a selection of tax deferred annuity plans
(403B) through Mutual of America (www.mutualofamerica.com) to
assist you in saving for your retirement. These accounts permit you to save
pre-tax dollars through payroll deductions. Each plan permits participants
to select from among several investment options including a "fixed
percentage" account.
Life Insurance
Employee Life Insurance
As a full-time employee, you are covered by a life insurance policy equal to
your annual salary. The policy is paid for by the agency and issued to your
beneficiary. In case of accidental death, the indemnity is doubled.
Supplemental Insurance
Supplemental life insurance for you or for a family member is available
through Metropolitan Life Insurance Company (www.metlife.com). Premiums can be paid
through payroll deduction.
Retirement Plans
Archdiocese Pension
Once enrolled in the plan, Cardinal McCloskey Services makes regular
contributions to the plan based upon the employee's overall earnings during
employment.
Supplemental Pension
Cardinal McCloskey Services provides an additional pension plan to further
supplement your pension benefit.
Driver Safety Courses
Safe drivers are a benefit to everybody. Cardinal McCloskey Services offers
a Driver Safety Course at several different sites throughout the year. A
registration priority is given to drivers who transport our clients.
Available space is open to staff in good standing with the permission of
their supervisor. Completion of the course entitles the employee to a
4-point reduction on any violation points on their license and a discount on
their insurance. The course is given during work hours and staff may attend
as part of their workday.
The Agency will even pay your enrollment fee.
