Brighten a Child's Future Today!

Cardinal McCloskey Services "Caring Hearts" Family Based Treatment Program is seeking adults to be trained as "professional parents". "Professional parents" are recruited through community churches, clubs and organizations and must pass vigorous background checks and complete a home study process. They must demonstrate sufficient time, energy, and parenting skills for working with emotionally challenged youth.

Why Become a Professional Parent?

  • Making a difference in your community by helping a child diagnosed with a mental illness.
  • Provide a safe and secure home for a child to learn different coping skills and how to manage their behavior.
  • Receive a stipend (non-taxable income) for each child placed in your home.
  • Be part of a monthly support group for "Professional Parents"
  • Both Professional Parents and staff work together to help children meet their individual treatment goals.

What Kind of Support do I Receive from the Agency?

Once recruited, professional parents are provided with special training and on-going support. Caring Hearts clinical and social work staff are available 24-hours a day, seven days a week. In addition, family specialists conduct weekly home visits to support the child and professional parents in the treatment process. Monthly cluster/support meetings for the professional parents and biological parents are held at the agency as a component of enhanced support. In addition, the Clinical Treatment Team is available to meet on an as needed basis.

We look forward to working with you
