Help Wanted!
If you are interested in donating your time to help keep children safe, help families in crisis, be-friend a developmentally disabled adult or help in administrative offices, consider becoming a Cardinal McCloskey Volunteer. We have a variety of volunteer opportunities available:
Working with Children
- Youth Mentors - Make a new friend and change a life forever. Become a positive role model as

Anyone working directly with children will be required to provide references. In addition, prospective volunteers will be cleared through the NYS Central Registry for Child Abuse & Maltreatment and through the NYS Criminal Justice Registry. In some cases, fingerprinting may be required.

you develop a one-to-one relationship with your new friend. You would be
matched with a youth from our Independent Living Program who is interested
in having a mentor. Mentors are asked to spend a few hours a week
together - helping with school work, going on an outing or just sharing a
meal or a movie. The program serves youth in the Bronx and East Harlem.

Youth Tutors - You don't need to be a teacher. If you can read,
write, do math and enjoy working with adolescents, you are needed. We
offer after school homework assistance and tutoring in basic academic
skills to adolescents in our Foster Boarding Home Program
in our
Southern Blvd. office, 953 Southern Blvd., 3rd Floor, Bronx, NY 10459.
Tutors are always needed. In addition to
improving academic skills, tutoring provides these children with a sense
of community that develops from the time spent together.

Arts & Crafts Teachers - After school, evening or weekend help
needed to teach arts & crafts at our safe house for abused children in
Ossining, NY.
Toy Drive Coordinators - Toys are always needed at Christmas! Volunteer to coordinate a Toy Drive in your school, at your job, in your church or anywhere else you can think of. We need gifts for 1,500 children ranging in age from infant to age 20. Put on your Santa hat and help us brighten Christmas for our children.

Writers/Journalists - We have so many stories to tell. If you would like to assist with writing our newsletter, press releases or brochures your help is urgently needed. Help pitch our stories to local media, help take photos or any other idea you might have. You could work from home or in the White Plains office.
Office Assistants - Volunteer assistance is needed in our White Plains, NY administrative offices to help with clerical/secretarial services such as filing, answering phones and shredding.
Computer Assistants - Good with computers? We need you! Your help with data entry assistance, website maintenance and on-line prospect research in our White Plains fundraising office would be greatly appreciated.
Charitable Benefit Coordinators - There is never enough money to do all that needs to be done. You can volunteer your time to coordinate a fundraising drive to benefit Cardinal McCloskey Services. Coordinating "Penny Drives", holiday food baskets, a children's book collection or winter coat collection are just a few ways volunteers have helped in the past.
