Jenna is 13 years old and is a victim of child abuse - just one of over 77,000 New York children suffering from abuse and neglect. Child abuse has become a national epidemic with 3 children dying each day.

David is 15 years old and has a developmental disability - just one of 200,000 people in New York diagnosed with mental retardation. Mental Retardation does not discriminate - one out of every 10 families is directly affected.

Why We Walk
We walk for all the Jennas and Davids who need someone to believe in them until they believe in themselves.
We walk to keep children safe
In Westchester, our "safe house" and on-site school - Hayden House - provides shelter for over 75 abused children who need immediate refuge.
In NYC, our Foster Boarding Home Programs and services provide safe, caring homes for nearly 600 children each year. These children have either been abused, severely neglected or have no safe home.
We walk to help parents become better parents
Our Preventive Services Programs serve over 400 families and 1,200 children each year - providing intensive rehabilitation and parenting programs to help break the cycle of violence and neglect.
We walk to rebuild broken lives
Through our Health & Clinical Services Program we provide therapeutic counseling to help abused children heal.
We walk because we believe in dreams
Our Residential Services Program provides homes and habilitation for over 100 teens and adults with developmental disabilities.
We walk because there are children, teens, families and adults in need. Proceeds from the walk will support our many programs and services dedicated to helping them achieve their dreams.
